I know. Another smoothie recipe. But, this one doesn’t have bananas. It’s high in protein and healthy fats, like almond butter.

I’ve never been a huge fan of pears. But, frozen pears in smoothies yields a light, creamy, icy smoothie.

If you are looking for a different smoothie recipe, this could be “the one.”

Arbonne Vanilla Protein Shake Mix

Arbonne provides some of my favorite nutrition products. And, the vanilla protein shake mix is my standard mix in my smoothies. It’s vegan protein derived from peas, cranberries, and rice. It provides amino acids to support muscle repair. It’s very allergy friendly and free from gluten, dairy, soy, whey, and GMO’s. It’s the best vegan protein mix on the market.

This creamy pear smoothie recipe is gluten-free, vegetarian, dairy-free, sweet, thick, creamy, high fat, and high protein.

Creamy Pear Smoothie (DF, GF)

Description

A thick and creamy pear smoothie that’s high in fat and protein.


Ingredients

2 cups crushed ice

4 pears, cored, sliced, frozen (or 4 frozen pears)

½ cup blanched almonds

½ cup almond butter

4 Tablespoons Arbonne Vanilla Protein Shake Mix (or other protein mixes)

6 Tablespoons honey, (optional)

2 ¼ cups almond milk


Instructions

  1. Slice pears and transfer to a freezer-safe container. Freeze pears for at least 12 hours. (Or purchase frozen pears)
  2. Blend ice, pears, almonds, almond butter, protein mix, honey and almond milk in an 8 cup blender on high for 2-3 minutes, until smooth.

Notes

Kitchen Tools – Blender or Vitamix

Slice pears very thin to allow for more natural blending. If you freeze the pear slices in the same container, they can easily adhere together. Separate the frozen pears before adding them to the blender so that they will blend easier.

I used a dry measuring cup for the ice, almonds, and almond butter. I used a liquid measuring cup for the milk.
