Do you think you need an expensive bread machine to make delicious gluten-free bread?
Do you think you need to watch the dough rise?
A few months ago, I thought both of those things were true.
I started researching gluten-free bread recipes from my favorite gluten-free bloggers. And, of course, on Pinterest, and other popular food websites like Bon Appetit.
I learned that you only need a few things:

The 411 on Gluten Free Bread Recipes
What are the typical ingredients in gluten-free bread recipes?
- Coconut Flour – naturally gluten-free, low in carbohydrates, high in protein
- Almond Flour – an excellent option for grain-free baking, low in carbohydrates
- Ground Flax Meal – nutty flavor, high in omega-3 fatty acids
- Chia Meal – a healthy dose of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein
- Arrowroot Powder/Tapioca Flour
- Baking Powder
- Baking Soda
- Dairy Free Milk – I use Three Trees unsweetened organic almond milk (only almond, water, and sea salt)
- Flavorless Oil/Avocado Oil
As you can see, most of the common ingredients are natural and healthy. You’ll find that many store-bought gluten-free bread products contain sugar, yeast, and gums.
Where can you buy the best ingredients?

- The Gluten Free Shoppe
- Whole Foods

What are the standard kitchen tools, and where can you buy them?
I use a 1.5 pound William Sonoma Red Goldtouch Nonstick Loaf Pan.
But, you can use any flat non-ridge loaf pan.
Unless, the recipe calls for a specific type of loaf pan, such as a jubilee or round loaf pan.
Most recipes will ask you to line the pan with parchment paper or use a non-stick spray.
Best Gluten Free Bread Recipe – Coconut Flour OR Almond Flour Bread Recipe by Leelalicious
Regina from Leelalicious developed an amazing dairy free gluten free bread recipe.
You can use either coconut flour or almond flour. I tried her suggestion for substituting the baking powder with cream of tartar and baking soda. I included the honey as an optional ingredient and sesame seeds for the topping. And, I used avocado oil.
The BEST part is you can make the batter in a blender. You only need a blender and loaf pan to make this delicious gluten-free bread recipe.
